Lucy McCann
Lucy McCann studied Dress Design at East Sydney Technical College, which gave her the grounding in draftsmanship and design. During this time she designed clothing and accessories with the design Label, Cue.
She modeled with June Dally-Watkins, having won a scholarship, and continued to model whilst designing.
Lucy designed characters of Australian animals for screen printing, which were promoted on clothing and sandshoes.
She then learnt pottery and finally studied welding for sculpture.
Settling on art she has studied with leading artists, and taking Commissions in oil and watercolour has helped her to develop as an artist. Her love of Australia and its ever changing land is her inspiration.
Judging Art Shows and Teaching art, with husband Barry McCann, at their studio, McCann Fine Art, in Armidale NSW and regularly teaching at the Mitchell School of Arts in Bathurst NSW, the Summer Art Experience, Canberra ACT, and the NZ Art Schools in Wellington and Queenstown in New Zealand for 10 years, she is now concentrating on producing art.
