Carolyn Young employs photography to explore and document the grassy woodlands of NSW, Victoria and ACT. Young concentrates on specific areas of interest, and returns season after season to document changes in the environment. Her works consist of examples of flora, insects or manmade objects and litter found in the woodlands, curated systematically and photographed, usually with a stark black background.
They are at once striking aesthetically and thought provoking in their detailed documentation.
Grassy Woodlands: Carolyn Young is showing at Tamworth Regional Gallery from 4 November until 10 December 2017.
